“….trust Iowans to do the right thing!”

Earlier this year Governor (COVID) Kim Reynolds shared the following in an interview about issues facing the state in 2022. ”I talked about the resilience of Iowans and how, you know, when we put our trust in them, they do the right thing," she said from her office. "And so it was really interwoven into the theme of the Condition of the State, which really was if we put our faith in Iowans, Iowans will come through."

Yet, this same governor fails to trust Iowans when it comes to educating the youth of Iowa and the decisions made by local school boards or educators. Reynolds and her in step legislative body have passed laws limiting what can be taught in state schools. Which Iowans is she “….trusting to do the right thing?

A recent survey showed that 54% of Iowans say they want legislators to legalize cannabis. Yet, the majority of Republicans who hold a trifecta in state government refuse to consider it. So Iowans flock across the Mississippi River to obtain legal marijuana at Illinois dispensaries and send millions of dollars across the river. Is this Kim’s example of “…. Iowans will come through?

Reynolds also attempts to limit Iowans rights when it comes to their health unless it involves wearing a mask in public places. She doesn’t trust Iowa women to know what is best for them regarding their reproductive rights even though 57% of Iowans say abortion should be legal. Her band of anti-abortion legislators think they know what’s best for Iowa women. So much for believing Iowans will “….do the right thing.

Some trust the governor has in Iowans! Why didn’t she just say she’d trust us if we agree with her and her yahoos on the hill?

If these things bother you just a little bit you need to be prepared to VOTE!

Vote for those running for Iowa’s state and national offices and elect those that really “….trust Iowans to do the right thing!
